Oeufs en Cocotte

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon Butter
  • 2 Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • 2 tablespoons Gruyere Cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Chives minced
  • Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Heat a pan of water, bringing it to a boil.
  • Lightly grease two ramekins with the butter. Crack an egg into each ramekin. Drizzle the tablespoon of cream around the yolk of each egg. Season with salt & fresh ground pepper. Top with the Gruyere cheese.
  • Place the ramekins in a dish with at least two inch sides. Pour the water around the eggs until it reaches the same height as the egg. Place in oven. Cook for 12 minutes for a soft yolk, 14 minutes for a medium yolk and about 16 minutes for a firm yolk.

Notes

*Cooking time is only a recommendation. Gently touch the yolk to feel for your desired doneness.
