Exquisite Golden Baked Sea Scallops
Elegant, Refined, Sophisticated. It sounds like a very fine wine or maybe it’s someone you know. Or, even maybe, that best describes you. It takes a great amount of effort for some people and for others it may seem effortless.So, here’s to EFFORTLESS! OK…almost effortless.Exquisite Golden Baked Sea Scallops, drizzled with garlic butter, fresh lemon juice and then topped with parmesan cheese. It’s a simple process of layering the ingredients in a scallop shell and them baking them till the scallop and parmesan turn a decadent golden brown. The juices from the scallops intwine their flavors with the butter. The scallop and cheese create a crust of deep sumptuous deliciousness.It is a perfect appetizer, first course (served with crostini) or even an entrée (served with pasta). You don’t have to use the shells. You can create this in a baking dish using the same layering process.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- 1/2 Shallot 3 tablespoons
- 1 large Garlic Clove minced, 1 tablespoon
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice juice from half a lemon
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley chopped
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Pepper
- 8 Scallop Shells
- 8 Scallops 2/3 pound, 10-15 count
- 3 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Melt butter over low heat. Add shallots, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes. Turn heat off.

- Wash and dry scallop shells. Rinse and dry scallops.

- Place shells on a sheet pan. Drizzle 1 teaspoon flavored butter into each shell. Top each buttered shell with a scallop. Top the scallops with the remaining flavored butter. Top each scallop with parmesan cheese.

- Bake for 8 minutes. Turn the oven to broil. Cook an additional 3-4 minutes or until the scallops and cheese have turned golden brown. The internal temperature should be 125 degrees.

- Top with microgreens or arugula.

These can be purchased at Toski Sands Market or online. They are a product of nature, harvested from the ocean. Safely use in the oven, broiler, grill or microwave. Great for baked seafood dishes, appetizers, dips or olive oils. You can reuse them and clean them in the dishwasher. Scallops
You can use any size scallop. With smaller scallops you will want to fill shell with 2-5 scallops, depending on their size. U-10 Scallops (the largest scallop) make a beautiful presentation but will take a few more minutes to cook. Baking Without a Shell
